Soft Racism of Low Expectations Alive and Well in Florida

The Florida State Board of Education thinks Black and Hispanic students are stupid.

The Board passed a plan last Tuesday for 2018 with goals that 90% of Asian, 88% of White, 81% of Hispanic, 74% of Black students will be reading at grade level. Also, 92% Asian, 86% White, 80% Hispanic, 74% Black students will be math proficient.
“To expect less from one demographic and more from another is just a little off-base,” Juan Lopez, magnet coordinator at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Riviera Beach, told the Palm Beach Post.

JFK Middle has a black student population of about 88 percent.

“Our kids, although they come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, they still have the ability to learn,” Lopez said. “To dumb down the expectations for one group, that seems a little unfair.”

Seems that is the plan, Don. It is the Brd of Ed so I think it fair to assume the decision makers are liberals and Democrat and we know about them and their plans, conscious or not.
