Learned Something New Today

On August 9, 1945, the atomic bomb nicknamed "Fat Man" was dropped from the B-29 bomber, "Bockscar," from 30,000 feet over Nagasaki, Japan. We've seen the films of bombs falling from the bomb bay of bombers in movies and documentaries, but I never knew this part of the Nagasaki mission:
Nagasaki A-bomb notes by LIFE magazine's Bernard Hoffman Sept 1945

The A-Bomb was seen leaving the B-29 flying over Nagasaki and "drop to the earth supported by 3 parachutes." I did not know that.
