Promises, Promises, and More Promises

I'm reminded of "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!"

Det. Lt. Frank Drebin: Wilma, I promise you; whatever scum did this, not one man on this force will rest one minute until he's behind bars. Now, let's grab a bite to eat.

John Kennedy is Dead

The woman at the :30 mark says, "So, I'm asking the script be flipped and asking what the country can do for me and the people in this room and this nation" in a clear & knowing reference to JFK's inaugural, "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

But, Maxine Waters said the tea party could go to hell; she'd like to help get them there, too. Isn't that more important than some educated peasant who should know better saying John Kennedy and his high sounding plea for a better America, a better world, a better citizenry can go to hell, wanting to know what's in it for me? Where's mine?

I guess in a political-points-by-stupid-sound-bite world, it is more important. Nevermind, the clear tectonic shift in the simple statement by that simple peasant. John Kennedy is dead. Get over it.

Maxine Waters Says TEA Party Can Go Straight to Hell

She said it and followed that by saying she'd like to get them there. Now, even bona fide idiots say Maxine Waters is an idiot so her comment is a bit of rhetorical fluff. Besides, we're all going straight to hell with Obama driving the Big Black Bus.

The more important comment comes at the very beginning of the video clip from a woman echoing the brave words spoken by President John F. Kennedy(D) in his 1961 inaugural address,
"And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."
The woman illustrates once again how perverted the ideals of the Democrats have become when she says,
"So, I'm asking the script be flipped and asking what the country can do for me and the people in this room and this nation."
Waters' comments begin at 1:55 in the video from the ABC News affiliate in Los Angeles, KABC.
