Obama Says Two Terms Enough

It's more than a little disturbing this was even a conversation.
WASHINGTON – Eight years as president is enough, thank you. At least that's what Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says President Barack Obama told her the other day.
(...)
Clinton says Obama told her, "I'm going to win re-election, and then I'm done," a remark that drew laughter from the audience.

The Impregnator

Arnold Schwarzenegger, former California governor, and wife, Maria Shriver, separated after Arnie admitted to fathering a child ten years ago with a member of their Brentwood household staff. The unnamed woman retired last January having met her goal of working for Schwarzenegger for twenty years. Quite a goal.

This story has caused some confusion because a love child story was published by the Daily Mail in 2003 according to The Gawker. It turns out that was a different child fathered by Schwarzenegger while married to Shriver.

Apparently, Arnold has two indiscretionary children during his marriage to Maria Shriver.

Men in Spandex

Stage 3 of the AMGEN Tour of California bike race started in my town this morning. Auburn bills itself as the Endurance Sports Capitol of the World," so it was only fitting that the 120 mile stage and one of fastest should begin here.

I did not video the race shown here, however, I was standing about 8ft to the right of the event volunteer videographer on the corner of Sacramento St. and Hwy 40, the Lincoln Hwy, known locally as Lincoln Way. This portion of the race ran through Old Auburn that has been in continuous operation since 1848. As the riders make the corner to head back uphill, you can see the famous spot in the road where John Travolta's character collapsed in the movie "Phenomenon" after seeing the bright light.

Van Helsing Steps Into the Light

and doesn't melt.
The very good blogger Van Helsing at Moonbattery announced his true identity today. I am grateful to him for being one of the first primetime bloggers to include my little blog on his blogroll from which I still garner hits each day. However, despite the photograph, I still want to see a long form birth certificate.
