Two Things Vietnam

Forty years to the day after they were leaked by The New York Times, the National Archives is releasing the Pentagon Papers today. The 7000-page report chronicled the deceptions of the Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson administrations to escalate the conflict in Vietnam while misleading Congress, the American public, and our allies leading to America's eventual withdrawal from the war.

With a huge sense of humor, Vietnam called on the US and other nations to help resolve the escalating territorial disputes in the resource-rich South China Sea as tension rose over the weekend between China and Vietnam just ahead of Vietnam's live-fire naval drills 20 miles off the central coast Monday. China does not approve, expressing deep concern.

Supposing America takes the bait, after the first Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan being described as Vietnam quagmires, what kind of quagmire would this be?
