Size Matters, Don't Let Anyone Say it Dosn't

Bulging Democratic majorities are scary, but Republicans must stand firm.

H/T Bookworm Room and lots of others today.

This is a very real headline from the Eastern Michigan University newspaper, The Echo, written by Opinion Editor Tom Brandt. The article is funny even if it is from a leftist college rag, penned by a fervent Obamabot.

Dan Rather, Obama, and Watermelons

Blathering Dan Rather, appearing on Hardball with Chris Matthews yesterday, asserted that Obama "couldn't sell watermelons"... at which point Matthews tried to talk over him and cut him off.

Left Coast Rebel transcribed the Blathering Dan's observation along with providing the currently rare video. I say rare because the videos and links have mostly been scrubbed.

You Tube
In the last few hours, Matthews has returned the entire video to the Hardball web page. Watermelons are at the 12:30 mark.

Left leaning Newsvine is excoriating Blathering Dan for being "so transparent as to his dislike of the President and his policies that he couldn't hide it. Dan was on such an anti-Obama mission that he said the President couldn't sell watermelon to? what, I don't know, because Chris Matthews tried to cut him off by talking deliberately over him with success. Dan just had such a rabbit look in his eyes while his mouth was in such a weird frown that I literally expected foam to come from it."

As usual, the Left has got it wrong. Blathering Dan was describing how Republicans and Independents would frame the health care argument. As usual, Blathering Dan was putting stupid words into the mouths of non-existent Republicans and Independents.

Nevertheless, Blathering Dan made the racist remark, not any of the non-existent others Liberals like to demonize. Dan said Obama couldn't sell watermelons. No one else.
