Don't Profile Serial Killer Whales - It's Speciesism

While Sea World was defending their decision to continue the Killer Whale show with the serial Killer Whale, Tilikum, the news editor at Short Sharp Science was busy theorizing why a Killer Whale would kill suggesting a clue might be in the name, Killer Whale.

Science Daily reports, however, that Princeton engineers have discovered a method for predicting the behavior of exotic materials that do not yet exist. By reworking an 80 year old quantum physics formula first developed in the 1920s, engineers can determine important characteristics and properties 100,000 times faster by computer modeling than previously possible.

Something is seriously wrong when the behavior of unknown, non-existent materials can be predicted, but that of Killer Whales cannot. That could be dangerously close to profiling and speciesism.

Reagan Warned of Socialized Medicine

Ronald Reagan's speech, "A Time for Choosing," from 1964 when he was a private citizen speaking as an invited guest to the Republican National Convention in San Francisco, is again making the rounds of blogs and news programs. I posted Reagan Aimed For Stars, Obama Aims For Swamp August 15, 2009 on the speech in toto with text at Indigo Continuum.

Nuclear Option - Dems Were Against It Before They Were For It

You know how Muslims are always saying, "Insha Allah" (God willing) when talking about the West being blown to smithereens and God doesn't ever seem to be willing. Well, the Democrats have the same problem. VP Joey Plugs Biden said of the Nuclear Option, "I pray God, when the Democrats take back control, we don't make the kind of naked power grab you are doing."

Christians Can Not Execute Muslims Argues Prosecutor

Faleh al-Maleki, by his own admission, ran over his daughter, Noor al-Maleki, with a two ton Jeep because she had become "too Westernized". The Iraqi Muslim father fled to Mexico from Arizona where the crime was committed, dumped the vehicle, and jumped a plane to London. The UK picked him up and sent him back to Arizona where he is now on trial for the honor killing of his daughter.

Despite the admission and the evidence, PajamasMedia's Phyllis Chesler writes,
"Arizona prosecutors have been scared off seeking the death penalty. Public defender Billy Little raised the specter of “How will it look for Christians to execute a Muslim?”"
(...)
Billy Little asked the judge to “take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim.” Little called for an “open process (to) provide some level of assurance that there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim for racial, political, religious or cultural beliefs,” referring to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ Christian faith.
(...)
Little also rattled his sword about the importance of keeping “religion” out of the proceeding…while simultaneously using the defendant’s religion to insist that his life be spared! In any event, even most Islamists insist that Islam has nothing to do with honor killings, that it is a tribal custom, one that existed long before Islam arose. (And, I must add, a custom which all-mighty Islam has been unable or unwilling to abolish).
The argument is ludicrous from the get go and should be denied. But, if the judge allows the argument to deny admissibility of religion as a motive as well as denying the applicability of capital punishment, how might that affect the trial Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the admitted mastermind of the 9/11 attacks? KSM is a Muslim on trial for murder and is being prosecuted and judged by Christians.

CSNews asked White House spokesman Robert Gibbs,
“The vice president (Joe Biden) said on Meet the Press that he guarantees that KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed) would not be acquitted. Isn't part of a civilian trial presumed innocent?”

Gibbs said, “Yes.”

CNSNews.com then asked, “And does the administration believe that he (KSM) is presumed innocent?”

Gibbs answered, “The administration is in charge of presenting the case against an individual that killed 3,000 people on American soil. I not only think he'll be convicted, I think he'll be executed for his crimes.”

In a follow-up question, CNSNews.com asked, “Can you make that guarantee though?”

Gibbs replied, “I think he’s going to be executed for his crime.”
Obama himself has said KSM will be convicted and executed. While Obama was visiting China, he was asked what he thought of

those who find it offensive that Mohammed will receive all the rights normally accorded to U.S. citizens when they are charged with a crime.

“I don't think it will be offensive at all when he's convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him,” Obama told NBC’s Chuck Todd.
Is there the slightest possibility here that Obama and/or his Justice Department under Attorney General Eric Holder, who recently admitted
nine Obama appointees in the Justice Department have represented or advocated for terrorist detainees before joining the Justice Department,
is actually trying to sabotage the trials of Muslims in the US?
