Obama had only two days before stood before the Islamic ummah in Cairo, Egypt, to declare, 'Ich bin ein Muslim.' Charles Krauthammer writes in the Washington Post, "Obama says he came to Cairo to tell the truth. But he uttered not a word of that. Instead, among all the bromides and lofty sentiments, he issued but one concrete declaration of new American policy: "The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements," thus reinforcing the myth that Palestinian misery and statelessness are the fault of Israel and the settlements."
Krauthammer continued on FOX News, describing Obama's Cairo speech as
The truth Obama had to tell was held for the Normandy D-Day commemoration. He had no trouble accurately enunciating the purpose and enemy in World War II. Obama said about the NAZI Third Reich of Adolf Hitler,
"so abstract, vapid, and self-absorbed that it didn't touch a lot of policy except on Iran where he was exceedingly weak... There was once again, over and over again, apologies for colonialism and imperialism. The United States was never a colonial power or even the holder of the League of Nations Mandate in the Arab or Muslim world."
For what we faced in Nazi totalitarianism was not just a battle of competing interests. It was a competing vision of humanity. Nazi ideology sought to subjugate, humiliate, and exterminate. It perpetrated murder on a massive scale, fueled by a hatred of those who were deemed different and therefore inferior. It was evil.Clearly, Obama does not understand moral and actual equivalence. He does not understand that what we face in Islamic totalitarianism is not just a battle of competing interests. It is a competing vision of humanity. Islamic ideology seeks to subjugate, humiliate, and exterminate. It perpetrates murder on a massive scale, fueled by a hatred of those who are deemed different and therefore inferior. It is evil.
