Reports say President Bush and aides are pretty pissed off about leaks from the Obama tribe concerning the private meeting Monday between Pres. Bush and Sen. (Pres-elect) Obama. The two met in private without their staffs, but information about the conversation was leaked to the press. The Bush men see this as an attempt to undermine the President's policies. Obama tribesmen deny, deny, deny.
A Presidential spokesman, speaking anonymously, said,
"Senator Obama may not be familiar with a long-standing tradition of presidents holding their private conversations, private."In Obama's defense, he may not have known of the tradition because he's not an American citizen. The post-election meetings between outgoing and incoming Presidents have been going on for a very long time -- about 200 years. It's understandable that a foreigner would not know this.
