Senate Passes the Financial Crisis Bailout Package

...proving you can have your cake and eat it, too.

Around the cake (1962)

"Heroes are really important in our society," said Thiebaud, "but really the things that matter most are family and home, whether it's your daily cup of coffee or a warm bathrobe. ... The simple pleasures are really important in life. Wouldn't it be great to have a society where you didn't need heroes?"
Wayne Thiebaud ( American, 1920)

Yes, the senate passed it and now we wait to see if Congress will. My guess is that they will.

I think we're between a rock and a hard place. If it doesn't pass then it remains at the top of the news probably until the election and we may be screwed. If it does pass, then we're screwed anyway. There's no way to win. It's depressing!

Speaking of a rock and a hard place, McCain is definitely there. Many Republicans are going to be pissed off at him. Will they withhold their votes? Geez, Indigo... this is getting worse every day!

Those peices of cake look like the new size of the pork laddened bailout bill!

Welcome to the island socialism! Pass the rum!

Rum? Socialism has rum! Well, maybe this won't be so bad after all.

They do indeed, Marie, they do indeed.

Congress did pass the measure and the Prez signed only hours later. McCain did a bad thing, but with the rock and hard place situation, there wasn't much else to do. One of those damned if you do, damned if you don't Hobson's Choice things.

And yes, things are looking worse everyday. They look 'worser' today, three days after you wrote your note.
