John Edwards Quits, Silky Pony Out of Race

John Edwards, former Senator from N.Carolina and the one time almost Vice-President of the United States, will drop his bid for the Presidency at 1 PM, EST today in New Orleans. He was John Kerry's running mate in 2004 where he suffered image problems he could not overcome. Edwards was named "The Breck Girl" after the women's shampoo, and "Silky Pony" for his fawning over his hair in an infamous video. John Kerry's treatment of Edwards as a good little boy who only wanted to please others and receive approval was emblematic of everything about John Edwards. At one point, in his recent campaign, while down in the polls, he played (preyed) upon his wife's cancer to gain sympathy and for a time his poll numbers were high until he started talking policy again.

The Associated Press has learned:

The two-time White House candidate notified a close circle of senior advisers that he planned to make the announcement at a 1 p.m. EST event in New Orleans that had been billed as a speech on poverty, according to two of his advisers. The decision came after Edwards lost the four states to hold nominating contests so far to rivals who stole the spotlight from the beginning—Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

The former North Carolina senator will not immediately endorse either candidate in what is now a two-person race for the Democratic nomination, said one adviser, who spoke on a condition of anonymity in advance of the announcement.

John Edwards Quits

And that's a good thing!

Well he should have done that before he even started!

He should have because he was in fact finished before he started.
