Mark Daily: I Hate Bullies

Mark Daily wrote in a blog post the reasons he volunteered to fight this war. His best friend, to whom Mark entrusted his family, told the 1300 people at the memorial service this past Saturday the real reason Mark joined. It was simplicity itself, "I hate bullies." In an e-mail to a fellow soldier, Mark closed with, "Remember: You carry a new world in your heart." In his brief life, Mark Daily wrote alot, read alot, taught alot, and lived alot. "I'm having the time of my life," he would say.

The Black Hawk helicopter slowly circled the field. The pilot's voice barely audible over the thumping of the rotor blades, "Mark Daily! Mark Daily! Mission accomplished!" A twenty-one gun salute fired by seven men in dress uniform, the trumpeting of taps, the skirl of bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace", the flag covering the coffin folded and presented to the grieving widow on behalf of a grateful nation, posthumous awarding of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. A good man was mourned and laid to rest. The struggle for freedom and liberty goes on. Life goes on.

I was there.

May this brave soldier know that there are more supporters for his bravery!

May he rest in peace.

This angers me and I can't see why people are so anti America when they live here! For the sake of this brave soldier they need to move to Saudi!!!

God bless him! What a fine young man. His myspace post was an amazing read.

I really wanted to attend the public funeral last Saturday; but was needed at work.

In case anyone can contribute:

Donations are being accepted to carry out Mark's wishes for a family celebration of his life in Oregon. Checks can be made payable to Janet Daily and sent in care of Jeanne Hunter, 22 Stonecreek North, Irvine, CA 92604.

I agree with dcat: People who are anti-American shouldn't be living here. They enjoy all the benefits of wonderful people like Mark Daily, who have laid down there lives for the very right of people who are anti-American to spew their drivel.

Thank you Mark Daily, for being the hero you are, and may God bless you always.
