"Ooops! Did I do that?" Pope Benedict XVI

Was Pope Benedict's
speech at Regensburg University really just an academic exercise and an invitation to the Islamic world to dialogue? I don't think so and neither do many other folks. One of those is George Friedman in a piece called "Faith, Reason and Politics: Parsing the Pope's Remarks" reprinted at The Pugil Stick.

...the pope knew that his remarks at Regensburg would come under heavy criticism from Muslims. He also knew that this criticism would continue despite any gestures of contrition. Thus, with his remarks, he moved toward closer alignment with those who are uneasy about Europe's Muslim community -- without adopting their own, more extreme, sentiments. That move increases his political strength among these groups and could cause them to rally around the church. At the same time, the pope has not locked himself into any particular position. And he has delivered his own warning to Europe's Muslims about the limits of tolerance.

...Benedict delivered a well-thought-out statement. It is also obvious that the Vatican had no illusions as to how the Muslim world would respond. The statement contained a verbal blast, crafted in a way that allowed Benedict to maintain plausible deniability. Indeed, the pope already has taken the exit, noting that these were not his thoughts but those of another scholar. The pope and his staff were certainly aware that this would make no difference in the grand scheme of things, save for giving Benedict the means for distancing himself from the statement when the inevitable backlash occurred. Indeed, the anger in the Muslim world remained intense, and there also have been emerging pockets of anger among Catholics over the Muslim world's reaction to the pope, considering the history of Islamic attacks against Christianity. Because he reads the newspapers -- not to mention the fact that the Vatican maintains a highly capable intelligence service of its own -- Benedict also had to have known how the war was going, and that his statement likely would aid Bush politically, at least indirectly. Finally, he would be aware of the political dynamics in Europe and that the statement would strengthen his position with the church's base there.

Masterful work Benny has done here. Accuse without accussing, condemn without condemning, apologize while only saying, "Ooops! Did I do that?" Masterful and bold.

The New Face of Criminality

Judge Robert G. James of the United States District Court, Western Division of Louisiana has ruled that Amercan boaters, fishers, hunters, swimmers, waders, are committing criminal trespass while using the Mississippi River or any other U.S. navicable waterway. One suspects those drowning would also be in violation.

Judge James rejected the findings of Magistrate Judge James Kirk last month. Judge Kirk earlier ruled the American public has the right to navigate, boat, fish, and hunt on the waters of the Mississippi river up to the normal high water line of the river under federal law and Louisiana law. Judge Kirk based his decision on long held and established federal and state principles on navigation recognizing the navigational rights of WE, the people. Kirk found that these rights

"…entitles the public to the reasonable use of navigable waters for all legitimate purposes of travel or transportation, for boating, sailing for pleasure, as well as for carrying persons or property for hire, and in any kind of watercraft the use of which is consistent with others also enjoying the right possessed in common."

Judge James, however, overruled Kirk in Normal Parm v. Sheriff Mark Shumate, claiming federal law grants exclusive and private control over the waters of the river, outside the main shipping channel, to riparian (waters edge) landowners. Declaring the shallows of navigable waterways closed to the public, effectively makes boating, fishing, swimming, duck hunting illegal, a federal crime, across most of this nation.

"Even though this action seems like a horrible pre-April fools [day] joke, it is very serious," said Phil Keeter, MRAA (Marine Retailers Association of America) president, in a statement. "Because essentially all the waters and waterways of our country are considered navigable in the US law, this ruling declares recreational boating, water skiing, fishing, waterfowl hunting, and fishing tournaments to be illegal and the public subject to jail sentences for recreating with their families."

"The Fishing Hole"

Well, now, take down your fishin' pole
And meet me at the fishin' hole,
We may not get a bite all day,
But don’t you rush away.
What a great place to rest your bones
And mighty fine for skippin' stones,
You’ll feel fresh as a lemonade,
A-settin in the shade.
Whether it’s hot, whether it’s cool,
Oh what a spot for whistlin' like a fool.

What a fine day to take a stroll
And wander by The fishin' hole,
I can’t think of a better way
To pass the time o’ day.
We’ll have no need to call the roll
When we get to The fishin' hole,
There’ll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey,
To doodle time away.
If we don’t hook a perch or bass,
We’ll cool our toes in dewy grass,
Or else pull up a weed to chaw,
And maybe set and jaw.

Hangin' around, takin' our ease,
Watchin' that hound a-scratchin'
At his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin' pole
And meet me at the fishin' hole,
I can’t think of a better way
To pass the time o’ day.

(Words to "The Andy Griffirh Show" theme song that were never used.)

President Ahmadinejad Speech at the U.N. General Assembly 60th Session

United Nations, New York, Sept 17, IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

The following is full text of President Ahmadinejad before the Sixtieth Session of the United Nations General Assembly:

How can we influence the future of the world? When and how will peace, tranquility and well-being for all come about? These are the fundamental questions before us.

We believe that a sustainable order, nurturing and flourishing peace and tranquility, can only be realized on the two pillars of justice and spirituality. The more human society departs from justice and spirituality, the greater insecurity it will face, so much so that a relatively small crisis, such as a natural disaster, leads to various abnormalities and inhuman behavior.

Unfortunately, the world is rife with discrimination and poverty.

Discrimination produces hatred, war and terrorism. They all share the common root of lack of spirituality coupled with injustice. Justice is about equal rights, the correct distribution of resources in the territories of different states, the equality of all before the law and respect for international agreements.

Justice recognizes the right of every one to tranquility, peace and a dignified life. Justice rejects intimidation and double standards. As the eminent daughter of the Prophet of Islam has said, "justice brings tranquility and harmony to our hearts."

Today, the world is longing for the establishment of such justice. If humanity heeds the call of its primordial nature with firm resolve, justice will emerge. This is what the Almighty has promised and all people of good will from all religions are waiting for. If the prevailing discourse of global relations becomes one of justice and spirituality, then durable peace will be guaranteed.

Conversely, if international relations are defined without justice and spirituality and void of moral considerations, then the mechanisms for promoting confidence and peace will remain insufficient and ineffective.

If some, relying on their superior military and economic might, attempt to expand their rights and privileges, they will be performing a great disservice to the cause of peace and in fact will fuel the arms race and spread insecurity, fear and deception. If global trends continue to serve the interests of small influential groups, even the interests of the citizens of powerful countries will be jeopardized, as was seen in the recent crises and the even natural disaster such as the recent tragic hurricane.

Today, my nation calls on other nations and governments to "move forward to a durable tranquility and peace based on justice and spirituality."

Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Islamic Republic of Iran is born out of a movement, based on the pure primordial nature of a people who rose up to regain their dignity esteem and human rights. The Islamic Revolution toppled a regime, which had been put in place through a coup, and supported by those who claim to be advocates of democracy and human rights, thwarted the aspirations of the nation for development and progress for 25 years through intimidation and torture of the populace and submission and subservience to outsiders.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is the manifestation of true democracy in the region. The discourse of the Iranian nation is focused on respect for the rights of human beings and a quest for tranquillity, peace, justice and development for all through monotheism.

For 8 years, Saddam's regime imposed a massive war of aggression and occupation on my people. It employed the most heinous weapons of mass destruction, including chemical weapons against Iranians and Iraqis alike. Who, in fact, armed Saddam with these weapons? What was the reaction of those who now claim to fight against WMDs regarding the use of chemical weapons back then? The world is witness to the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran, because of its humanitarian principles, even during the most testing of times and when it was sustaining the highest number of casualties, never allowed itself to use such weapons.

Thousands of nuclear warheads that are stockpiled in various locations coupled with programs to further develop these inhuman weapons have created a new atmosphere of repression and the rule of the machines of war, threatening the international community and even the citizens of the countries that possess them.

Ironically, those who have actually used nuclear weapons, continue to produce, stockpile and extensively test such weapons, have used depleted uranium bombs and bullets against tens and perhaps hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, Kuwaitis, and even their own soldiers and those of their allies, afflicting them with incurable diseases, blatantly violate their obligations under the NPT, have refrained from signing the CTBT and have armed the Zionist occupation regime with WMDs, are not only refusing to remedy their past deeds, but in clear breech of the NPT, are trying to prevent other countries from acquiring the technology to produce peaceful nuclear energy.

All these problems emanate from the fact that justice and spirituality are missing in the way powerful governments conduct their affairs with other nations.

After September 11, a particular radical group was accused of terrorist activities -- although it was never explained how such huge intelligence gathering and security organizations failed to prevent such an extensive and well planned operation.

Why powers that, not so long ago, were supporting the activities of such groups in Afghanistan and thus portraying themselves as supporters of human rights and the Afghan people have over night turned into their most fierce critic?

Are we to believe that their benefactors ,i.e. the very same hegemonic powers have lost control?

If the answer is yes, would it not be better for those powers to adopt an honest and transparent approach to the international community, provide precise information about the main elements and their arms and financial support system, and accept responsibility for their inhuman actions against nations and countries, and thereby assist peoples and nations to correctly, wisely and sincerely fight the roots of terrorism.

We must endeavor to achieve sustainable tranquility and peace based on justice and spirituality.

Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Terrorism and WMDs are two major threats before the international community. The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the main victims of terrorism and chemical weapons, fully appreciates the difficulties that lie ahead in the road to combat these menaces.

Today, the most serious challenge is that the culprits are arrogating to themselves the role of the prosecutor. Even more dangerous is that certain parties relying on their power and wealth try to impose a climate of intimidation and injustice over the world make bullying, while through their huge media resources portray themselves as defenders of freedom, democracy and human rights.

People around the world are fully aware of what is happening in the occupied Palestine. Women and children are being murdered and adolescents taken prisoner. Houses are being demolished and farms burnt down. Yet, when the people of Palestine resist these conditions, they are accused of terrorism. At the same time, the occupier, which does not abide by any principles and terror is part of its pronounced and routine policy enjoys the support of the previously mentioned governments. Let me be blunter. State terrorism is being supported by those who claim to fight terrorism.

How can one talk about human rights and at the same time blatantly deny many the inalienable right to have access to science and technology with applications in medicine, industry and energy and through force and intimidation hinder their progress and development? "Can nations be deprived of scientific and technological progress through the threat of use of force and based on mere allegations of possibility of military diversion? We believe that all countries and nations are entitled to technological and scientific advancement in all fields, particularly the peaceful technology to produce nuclear fuel. Such access cannot be restricted to a few, depriving most nations and by establishing economic monopolies, use them as an instrument to expand their domination.

We have gathered here to defend human rights in accordance with Charter of UN and prevent certain powers from claiming that "some countries have more rights "or that" some countries do not have the right to enjoy their legitimate rights".

We must not, at the beginning of the 21st century, revert to the logic of the dark ages and once again try to deny societies access to scientific and technological advances.

Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The UN must be the symbol of democracy and the equal rights of nations. If we talk about the equal rights of nations in political forums, we must talk of the same concept in this forum as well.
Similarly, if we talk about the right of sovereignty, then all nations must be allowed to exercise their rights on an equal footing and in a democratic process.

The UN can be the standard bearer of democracy in the world, when it, itself, is a manifestation of democratic process. I reiterate that durable tranquility and peace can only be built on justice and spirituality.

Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a symbol of true democracy. All officials including the Leader, President, members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, city and village councils are elected through the vote of the citizens. The Islamic Republic of Iran has held 27 national elections in 27 years. This showcases a vibrant and dynamic society in which people widely participate in the political life.

Because of its key importance and influence in the important and strategic Middle East region, the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to contribute actively to the promotion of peace and stability in the region.

Saddam, Taliban regimes were both the products of foreign powers.

The people of Afghanistan and Iraq know very well who supported these two regimes.

Today, to establish peace and security in the region, foreign occupation forces must leave and completely hand over the political and economic sovereignty of these two countries to their peoples. "The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to provide full and comprehensive support to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan and their elected governments, and will actively help them in the establishment of order and security. My country will continue and expand its sincere cooperation and interaction with them.

In Palestine, a durable peace will be possible through justice, an end to discrimination and the occupation of Palestinian land, the return of all Palestinian refugees, and the establishment of a democratic Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Mr. President, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, more than ever, nations need constructive, positive and honest cooperation and interaction in order to enjoy a dignified, tranquil and peaceful life based on justice and spirituality. Let us enter into a collective covenant to realize this legitimate aspiration of our nations.

Here, I would like to briefly talk about the approach and initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the nuclear issue.

Nuclear weapons and their proliferation, and attempts to impose an apartheid regime on access to peaceful nuclear energy, are two major threats, challenging international tranquility and peace.

Keeping in mind that in past years no serious efforts complimented by practical mechanisms -- have been made to move towards full disarmament and more specifically implement the decisions and outcomes of the NPT Review Conferences of 1995 and 2000, I suggest that the General Assembly, as the most inclusive UN organ, mandate an ad-hoc committee to compile and submit a comprehensive report on possible practical mechanisms and strategies for complete disarmament.

This Committee should also be asked to investigate as to how contrary to the NPT -- material, technology and equipment for nuclear weapons were transferred to the Zionist regime, and to propose practical measures for the establishment of a nuclear-weapons-free zone in the Middle East.

Some powerful states practice a discriminatory approach against access of NPT members to material, equipment, and peaceful nuclear technology, and by doing so, intend to impose a nuclear apartheid.

We are concerned that once certain powerful states completely control nuclear energy resources and technology, they will deny access to and thus deepen the divide between powerful countries and the rest of the international community. When that happens, we will be divided into light and dark countries.

Regrettably, in the past 30 years, no effective measure has been implemented to facilitate the exercise of the legally recognized right of NPT state-parties to have access to and use peaceful nuclear energy in accordance with article IV. Therefore, the General Assembly should ask the IAEA in accordance with article 2 of its Statute to report on violations by specific countries that have hindered the implementation of the above article and also produce practical strategies for its renewed implementation.

What needs our particular attention is the fact that peaceful use of nuclear energy without possession of nuclear fuel cycle is an empty proposition. Nuclear power plants can indeed lead to total dependence of countries and peoples if they need to rely for their fuel on coercive powers, who do not refrain from any measure in furtherance of their interests. No popularly elected and responsible government can consider such a situation in the interest of its people. The history of dependence on oil in oil rich countries under domination is an experiment that no independent country is willing to repeat.

Those hegemonic powers, who consider scientific and technological progress of independent and free nations as a challenge to their monopoly on these important instruments of power and who do not want to see such achievements in other countries, have misrepresented Iran's healthy and fully safeguarded technological endeavors in the nuclear field as pursuit of nuclear weapons. This is nothing but a propaganda ploy. The Islamic Republic of Iran is presenting in good faith its proposal for constructive interaction and a just dialogue.

However, if some try to impose their will on the Iranian people through resort to a language of force and threat with Iran, we will reconsider our entire approach to the nuclear issue.

Allow me, as the elected President of the Iranian people, to outline the other main elements of my country's initiative regarding the nuclear issue:

1. The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates its previously and repeatedly declared position that in accordance with our religious principles, pursuit of nuclear weapons is prohibited.

2. The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that it is necessary to revitalize the NPT and create the above-mentioned ad-hoc committee so that it can combat nuclear weapons and abolish the apartheid in peaceful nuclear technology.

3. Technically, the fuel cycle of the Islamic Republic of Iran is not different from that of other countries which have peaceful nuclear technology.

Therefore, as a further confidence building measure and in order to provide the greatest degree of transparency, the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to engage in serious partnership with private and public sectors of other countries in the implementation of uranium enrichment program in Iran. This represents the most far reaching step, outside all requirements of the NPT, being proposed by Iran as a further confidence building measure.

4. In keeping with Iran's inalienable right to have access to a nuclear fuel cycle, continued interaction and technical and legal cooperation with the IAEA will be the centerpiece of our nuclear policy.

Initiation and continuation of negotiations with other countries will be carried out in the context of Iran's interaction with the Agency.

With this in mind, I have directed the relevant Iranian officials to compile the legal and technical details of Iran's nuclear approach, based on the following considerations:

4.1. International precedence tells us that nuclear fuel- delivery contracts are unreliable and no legally binding international document or instrument exists to guarantee the delivery of nuclear fuel.

On many occasions such bilateral contracts stopped altogether for political reasons. Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran, in its pursuit of peaceful nuclear technology, considers it within its legitimate rights to receive objective guarantees for uranium enrichment in the nuclear fuel cycle.

4.2. In its negotiations with the EU3 ,Iran has tried in earnest to prove the solid and rightful foundations of its nuclear activity in the context of the NPT, and to establish mutual trust. The selection of our negotiating partners and the continuation of negotiations with the EU3 will be commensurate with the requirements of our cooperation with the Agency regarding non-diversion of the process of uranium enrichment to non-peaceful purposes in the framework of the provisions of the NPT. In this context, several proposals have been presented which can be considered in the context of negotiations. The Islamic Republic of Iran appreciates the positive contribution of South Africa and H.E. President Mbeki personally in the resolution of the nuclear issue and cognizant of South Africa's active role in the IAEA Board of Governors would welcome its active participation in the negotiations.

4.3. The discriminatory approaches regarding the NPT that focuses on the obligations of state-parties and disregards their rights under the Treaty should be discontinued.

As the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I assure you that my country will use everything in its power to contribute to global tranquility and peace based on the two maxims of spirituality and justice as well as the equal rights of all peoples and nations.

My country will interact and cooperate constructively with the international community to face the challenges before us.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

From the beginning of time, humanity has longed for the day when justice, peace, equality and compassion envelop the world. All of us can contribute to the establishment of such a world. When that day comes, the ultimate promise of all Divine religions will be fulfilled with the emergence of a perfect human being who is heir to all prophets and pious men. He will lead the world to justice and absolute peace.

O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and peace.

Ramadan Roulette

Abu Dawood, the new guy as commander of al-Qaida in Afghanistan, has informed the world the final preparations for Hiroshima in America have been made, and the major attack in the U.S. is imminent. Further, Muslims in the United States should leave the the country; there will be no other warnings.

The American Hiroshima is suspected of being a nuclear attack involving between 7 and 20 nuclaer warheads or dirty bombs. Many are thought to have been smuggled into the U.S. over the Mexican border with the aid of the MS-13 gang. The bad guys may have completed training in the Qaida training camps in the Tri-border area of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Brazil entered into a "no-visa" agreement with Saudi Arabia a few years ago. This is not strange as Brazil has such agreements with many countries including Moracco, another source of terrorists. Brazil had a "no-visa"agreement with Mexico until October 23, 2005 when strong objectioins from the U.S. State Dept ended the deal. An opportunity for unobstructed infiltration existed many months during which time many bad people could have slipped in.

From the years of the Cold War, the U.S. government believed that Soviet sleeper agents were in this country with suitcase nukes. After the U.S.S.R. fell, former enemy spies verified the claims, but were unable to provide further information, except that they believed the Soviet era bad guys were still here with the nukes. Laden has several times alluded to these assets when in referring to the number of nukes in his control. They could also be carried in any of Laden's estimated 14 cargo ships that form the al-Qaida navy.

The battle will be under the operational command of Adnan el Shukrijumah( aka "Jaffer Tayyer" or "Jafer the Pilot.") Reared in Brooklyn and educated in Florida, Shukrijumah is a naturalized citizen of America. Just so that no one misunderstands, Shukrijumah is an American citizen leading an attack meant to kill as many Americans as possible and, if possible, bring about the destruction of America, his adopted country.

The Qaida sleeper cell mates assigned to carry out the mission in the U.S. are only waiting for the final go orders. Many have blended into the general population by using Christian names and attending Christian churches just as Mohammad instructed his holy warriers to do. We will be fooled by these people because we accept people at face value; as Americans, we are a very open, trusting, and naive folk. The Taliban and Qaida will launch simultaneous attacks against Western forces in Iraq and Afghanistan during Ramadan, which will begin on September 23, 2006 for all of the United States, and end October 22, 2006. We will receive our final invitation to join Islam (immediadte RSVP requested) will be broadcast sometime in the next two weeks. Osama "Slim" bin Laden himself will extend his person invite.

Hamid Mir, the only journalist to interview Laden, Doc Zawahiri, and Mullah Omar (Taliban leader) in the wake of 9/11, received the announcements from Abu Dawood. Mir has so far been a reliable source of information about the Taliban resurgencce and the Pakistan/Qaida truce that puts Zawahiri, and possibly Laden in the 45 kilometer tribal zone along the Paki/Afghan border.

Dawood and the Qaida gangsters with him met Mir at the Sultan Mehmud Ghaznawi Tomb just outside Kabul, Afghanistan. The bad guys wore western clothes, were clean shaven, and pretended to be reporters. Mir wore a '70s peach leasure suit accented with a cheap Rolex knockoff (okay, I just made up that last part, but the scene was begging for ridicule.)

Hamid Mir had been contacted by the Qaida commander by cell phone to arrange the meeting. The meet took place on or about Saturday, September16, 2006. Let's listen in:

Q: How did you have my local mobile number?
A: We watched you on Geo TV walking in the mountains near Kabul with British troops. You were embedded with our enemies. We were sure that you are staying in one of the few hotels or guest houses in Kabul. We were looking for you in Serena and Intercontinental hotels, but then some Taliban friends informed us that they had your phone number and you might visit them in Zabul [an Afghani province]. We got your number from Commander [Muhsen] Khayber. [Khayber was responsible for a homicide bombing in Casablanca that killed 32 people]. Don't worry about that. We will not make any harm to you. We just want to warn you that you better don't take any rides in the tanks and humvis of the Western Forces; they are not safe for any journalist in Afghanistan.

Q: Thanks for your concern; can I know your name?
A: Yes my name is Abu Dawood, if you remember, we have already met in Kunar two years ago, but at that time I had a long beard, now I have a small one. You were there in the mountains, close to Asadaabad [a small village in the Kunar province of eastern Afghanistan] and you met some Al Qaeda fighters. I was among them.

Q: OK. I just want to say that I am a journalist, I have to speak to both sides of a conflict, for getting an objective view and that is why I was traveling with the British troops; now I am sitting with you and that is my real job. I have interviewed Osama bin Laden as well as Condoleezza Rice, General Pervez Musharraf and President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan. I hope you will appreciate my objective approach?
A: You have claimed to be objective, but you and your TV channel have always given much time to the propaganda of our enemies. Anyhow, it was our moral responsibility to warn you that you better try to avoid traveling with the British, American, Canadian, French, Spanish and Italian troops in Afghanistan, we will target all of them, we don't want that people like you suffer by our attacks, it is not good for you, and at least you should not be killed with the enemies of Islam. I am sure, brother Khayber have informed you that the Taliban will launch a big operation against the Crusader Forces, in the holy month of Ramadan; don't come to Afghanistan in Ramadan. You will see a lot of fadaee amalyat ["suicide bombings"] in coming days, Kabul will become a graveyard of NATO and ISAF.

Q: Yes Khayber told me about the "Badar operation" in Ramadan. I think you are an Afghani but you are not a Talib, are you a member of Al Qaeda?
A: You are right. But we are with the Taliban, just helping them, fighting under their command. Every Al Qaeda fighter can become a Talib, but every Talib cannot become Al Qaeda.

Q: So where is Sheikh Osama bin Laden?
A: I don't know exactly, but he is still in command of Al Qaeda, and he is in contact with his Mujaheddin all over the world.

Q: Why there was no new video statement from him, in last two years?
A: Because the CIA can feed his fresh picture to the computers fitted on their Predator planes, and these planes can get him, like Nek Muhammad or Akbar Bugti. But he has released many audio messages this year. Listen to him carefully. Don't underestimate his warnings. America is playing with the security of Muslims all over the world, now it is our turn again. Our brothers are ready to attack inside America. We will breach their security again. There is no timeframe for our attack inside America; we can do it any time.

Q: What do you mean by another attack in America?
A: Yes a bigger attack than September 11th 2001. Brother Adnan [el Shukrijumah] will lead that attack, Inshallah.

Q:Who is Adnan?
A: He is our old friend. The last time, I met him in early 2004, in Khost. He came to Khost from the North Waziristan. He met his leaders and friends in Khost. He is very well known in Al Qaeda. He is an American and a friend of Muhammad Atta, who led 9/11 attacks five years ago. We call him "Jaffer al Tayyar" ["Jafer the Pilot"]; he is very brave and intelligent. Bush is aware that brother Adnan has smuggled deadly materials inside America from the Mexican border. Bush is silent about him, because he doesn't want to panic his people. Sheikh Osama bin Laden has completed his cycle of warnings. You know, he is man of his words, he is not a politician; he always does what he says. If he said it many times that Americans will see new attacks, they will definitely see new attacks. He is a real Mujahid. Americans will not win this war, which they have started against Muslims. Americans are the biggest supporters of the biggest terrorist in the world, which is Israel. You have witnessed the brutality of the Israelis in the recent 34-day war against Lebanese civilians. 9/11 was a revenge of Palestinian children, killed by the US-made weapons, supplied to Israel. The next attack on America would be a revenge of Lebanese children killed by US-made cluster bombs. Bush and Blair are the Crusaders, and Muslim leaders, like Musharraf and [Afghani President Hamid] Karzai are their collaborators, we will teach a lesson to all of them. We are also not happy with some religious parties in Pakistan and Egypt, they got votes in the name of Mujaheddin, and then, they collaborated with Musharraf and [Egyptian President] Hosni Mubarak. Now look at all of them, Musharraf and Karzai don't trust each other, the CIA and ISI don't trust each other, all the hypocrites and enemies of Mujaheddin are suspecting each other; this help to us is coming from Heavens. Allah is with us.

Q: But if you attack inside America again, then Muslims living in America will face lot of problems, why would you like to create new problems for your brothers and sisters?
A: Muslims should leave America. We cannot stop our attack just because of the American Muslims; they must realize that American forces are killing innocent Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq; we have the right to respond back, in the same manner, in the enemy's homeland. The American Muslims are like a human shield for our enemy; they must leave New York and Washington.

Q: But your fighters are also using the American Muslims as their shield, if there are no Muslims in America, then there would be no Al Qaeda, may be the Americans would feel safer?
A: No, not at all. We have a different plan for the next attack. You will see. Americans will hardly find out any Muslim names, after the next attack. Most of our brothers are living in Western countries, with Jewish and Christian names, with passports of Western countries. This time, someone with the name of Muhammad Atta will not attack inside America, it would be some David, Richard or Peter. (Or perhaps Keith Ellison.)

Q: So you will not attack America, until Muslims are there?
A: I am not saying that, I am saying that Muslims must leave America, but we can attack America anytime. Our cycle of warnings has been completed, now we have fresh edicts from some prominent Muslim scholars to destroy our enemy, this is our defending of Jihad; the enemy has entered in our homes and we have the right to enter in their homes, they are killing us, we will kill them.

They are nothing if not confident. The bad guys get very chatty in their conversation, almost annoyingly so. There's alot of actionable information provided. The "Jack Baur' types in the government counter-terror service have probably been all over this even before the cemetary drop was made Sept. 16. It's one of those battles the President said we would never know about. If Dawood is right and a round has been chambered in the Ramadan Roulette pistol, and it goes off, we will hear about it. New York and Washington were specifically mentioned, and local poop is that a dirty bomb is slated for Los Angeles.

I hope the President is right, we never hear about anything that occurred, and the Democrats have another nail for the Republican coffin in November '06 and '08. Then it will be their problem which may be fine. The Dems are seen as reluctant warriers and receive far more poopular support during war. They also have no qualms about starting drafts and raising taxes to support a war.

Follow Bin Laden and Destroy Him

John Kerry, damned fool and Democrat Senator from Massachusetts, Saturday, 9/16, accused President Bush of "abandoning the hunt for Osama bin Laden." Scary Kerry also said the President had tried to "shut down the CIA unit" tasked with hunting down bin Laden. President Bush had said earlier Saturday that the hunt will continue until bin Laden is captured.

The Washington Post last Sunday, September 10, 2006, reported in an article Bin Laden Trail 'Stone Cold' that the hunt for Laden had reached a complete standstill.

The clandestine U.S. commandos whose job is to capture or kill Osama bin Laden have not received a credible lead in more than two years. Nothing from the vast U.S. intelligence world -- no tips from informants, no snippets from electronic intercepts, no points on any satellite image -- has led them anywhere near the al-Qaeda leader, according to U.S. and Pakistani officials.

"The handful of assets we have have given us nothing close to real-time intelligence" that could have led to his capture, said one counterterrorism official, who said the trail, despite the most extensive manhunt in U.S. history, has gone "stone cold."
At the request of President Bush, the CIA has "flooded the zone" in the last three months, significantly increasing ground assets dedicated to capturing or killing Laden. However, no one seems to know exactly where "the zone" is. This obviously makes the job to "kill or capture" Laden, and presumably any of his henchmen like Doc Zawahiri, all the more difficult.

Using Zawahiri to get to Laden may be the key. The general location of Zawahiri has been known for several months, and though his exact whereabouts are unknown at any particular time, his general location is fairly well established, and sources say his area of movement is being severely circumscribed.

Ironically, the Pakistani truce with al-Qaida that gives the terror outfit free reign in the tribal areas along the Pakistan/Afghanistan border about 45 kilometers long. Laden stays within 15 kilometers of the border either way, said Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, XVIII Airborne Corps commander, "so that if the Pakistanis, for whatever reason, chose to do something to him, he could cross into Afghanistan and vice versa." This may actually be the reason for the truce - to give al-Qaida a sense of security so they will make a mistake and Laden will show himself on a nice clear day just right for a Hellfire missile launched from a Predator drone. Apparently the drone threat is why Laden hasn't been seen in recent years. In a recent message to Muslims to leave the US in advance of a major 9/11 type attack, Adnan el Shukrijumah said, "Because the CIA can feed his fresh picture to the computers fitted on their Predator planes, and these planes can get him."

Because the hunt for Laden is carried out secretly and without fanfare, publicly no single individual is in charge of finding Laden nor directing CIA, NSA, and intelligence services where to place and how to utilize their assets. "There's nobody in the United States government whose job it is to find Osama bin Laden!" one frustrated counterterrorism official shouted. "Nobody!"

However, intelligence officers will be teaming with the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), a secretive military organ, National Security Agency (NSA), and other intelligence agencies possibly from other countries. Combining the abilities of several specialized units and intelligence agencies led to the killing of Zarqawi as Indigo Red reported last June 9.

The JSOC commander since 2003, Lt. Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, is the accepted leader in the hunt for Laden. He has a good working relationship with the CIA and has made the CIA Station Chief in Kabul his assistant. Now when McChrystal asks for targets from the CIA, the agency tries to comply. "We serve the military," one intelligence officer said.

The intelligence gathering by JSOC under McChrystal has improved to the point that they can turn newly developed data into real-time action items without having to wait for more analysis from Langley CIA or SOCOM. Military and industrial experts in the feild are performing faster due to computer forensic field kits enabling operators to retrieve and analyze information from surviving hard-drives, cellphones, and other types of electronics in order to make analysis, judgments, and decisions on the run.

The JSOC has the authority to go after Laden into Pakistan or anywhere else he chooses to go without having to await permission. "The authority follows the target," one intel officer said, (which was almost the same instruction Pres. Lincoln gave Gen. Grant, "Follow Lee and destroy him.') If Laden is the target, then the stakes are high enough for McChrystal to call the shots on his own, following Laden in hot-pursuit into Pakistan. It is understood that Pakistan will not interfere and also will disavow any knowledge of the action.

Mr. bin Laden, please continue listening to that damn fool John Kerry. No one is looking for you, no one cares where you are, or will be because you aren't that important. Just go on with your life sipping tea on the veranda of your cave and everything will be OK.
