"We will bring America to her knees," Laden said. And they did.
This was the quietest day in America in the past 100 years. The silence; who can forget the silence? There were no civilian planes, large or small, domestic or foreign in the skies from sea to shining sea. Amber waves of grain saw only bright blue sky; purple mountains majesty heard only the silent prayers of millions of Americans. Americans praying on bended knee for the lost souls, praying on bended knee for guidance and wisdom, praying on bended knee.
Laden brought America to her knees alright. And America was about to stand up.
