The Best Congress Money Can Buy

It's official, 40 out of 45 members of the Senate Democrat Caucus also believe taking money from the scoundrels like Jack Abramoff, his associates, and Indian tribes is okay. (What do the other five members know?)

Here's a sample of Democratic Senators from CNSNews:

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)- $68,941;
Sen. Byron Dorgan, (D-N.D.)- $79,300;
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa)- $45,750;
Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.)- $6,250;
Sen. Hillary Rodham-Clinton (D-N.Y.)- $2,000.

Many of the Senators, Democrat and Republican alike, have returned the "contributions" or are in the process of doing so. The Administration, which received some $100,000 from Abramoff, is also returning the money.

Returning the money, however good that may be, doesn't justify taking the loot in the first place. Granted, Jack Abramoff was a first class conman who will no doubt benefit with book and movie deals. But, our elected officials should avoid even the appearance of impropriaty. It's high time the Justice Dept returned to cracking down on criminals in government and those hanging around the edges of power.

The life of Indigo Red is full of adventure. Tune in next time for the Further Adventures of Indigo Red.

Well don't tell the moonbats that Democrats took money!

They are all over my post on the subject and an earlier post claiming that because Abramoff gave his own money exclusively to GOP officials (amounts limited to $2,000 per election cycle) that this is somehow a GOP scandal.

Apparently, directing your firm to and it's clients to give nearly $69k to the Senate MINORITY Leader is NOT a scandal?

We're back to the meaning of words like "is" and "scandal."
