Mother Nature Messed with Us

I have posted the following at a couple of blog sites with mostly Liberal, blame Bush first readers. It was intended just as a comment, but it kept growing as my writing tends to do. So, I've decided to post it on my own page (wow, what an idea!)

Sorry to break the news to you [bloggers], and your regular readers, but, it is not the responsibility of the President or the Federal government to manage catastrophes. It is first the responsibility of local authorities and private citizens; then, state and regional agencies; the rescuers of last resort are the Feds.

In this case, in New Orleans, Mayor Nagin said on Saturday he had an evacuation plan that was going to save everybody. Louisiana Governor Blanco said she was sure the state agencies were prepared for anything and the Feds should stand off until and if needed. The President went ahead and declared the region a disaster area even before H-Kat came ashore, while still a cat-4. It was the Feds who kept saying, "this is the big one, the Category 5 monster that will destroy everything in its path - get the hell out." Even now, eighteen-wheel trucks of rescue equipment aboard (each cargo worth $2.2 million) are still sitting at response centers because neither the Louisiana Governor nor New Orleans Mayor have made a formal request for them to be moved into the disaster zones as is required by law, a law and procedure of which President Bush reminded the Governor and Mayor days before the hurricane struck. In the same telephone call, President Bush pressed for an immediate manditory total evacuation of the city of New Orleans and surrounding parishes.

That 100K-300K people decided to stay, that citizens never prepared for the disaster they all knew would happen someday, that Mayor Nagin's plans were non-existent, that hundreds of school busses were left unused in the school yard, that uniformed police officers took part in the looting, is hardly the fault of the Federal government, nor the fault of the President even if the office was still held by that scum sucker, Bill Clinton.

Hurricanes cannot be legislated. Disasters happen and no one can know what will be presented the following morn. Sure, the liberal conmen and policy wonks will "Monday morning quarterback", but where were they when their unerring prescience was needed most? I'll tell you, they were in the wings watching, waiting, hoping things would go wrong, people would suffer, people would die so they could blame the President and the Republicans. Those not snickering to themselves are deep in thought as to how they can apply more ineffectual Federal oversite to an already bloated Liberal socialist government that "can't even brew a gallon of beer economically" (Gerald Ford.)

I live in earthquake country. The first thing aid agencies will tell people is to have food, water, clothing, medicines, toiletries, flashlights and batteries, blankets and shelter, and cash money to last five to six days minimum because that's how long it will take for organized help to arrive.

I'm sorry that people are suffering and many have died, but neither Republicans nor Democrats created this Category 5 Hurricane Katrina. Mother Nature did. So go ahead and blame whomever you wish. In the meantime, who is preparing for the next hurricane gathering in the Atlantic off the Florida coast as we sit and argue over New Orleans, a city that even 250 years ago, should never have existed? The Bush Administration, that's who.

Hurricane Katrina

Nature has dealt a devastating blow to the Gulf Coast of the United States. The destruction is greater than anything any group of terrorist crazies could ever dream of delivering.

American Red Cross

Our cities have been blown apart and flooded, dikes have been breached, and thousands of people have been left homeless.

Salvation Army

The birth place of Jazz, Dixieland Jazz, and the Blues, first truly American art forms, has been inundated not with late night revelers and tourists, but with what is normally lifegiving water. Today the water brings death and destruction.

Despite the heartache, damage, destruction, and death, American families gather themselves together, collect what few possessions they can carry, and get on with life.

Mercy Corps

Far, far away, National Guard troops of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and all the states effected by Katrina are serving their country. Those men and women who bravely face the slings, arrows, bullets, and bombs of the enemy are helpless in the face of Mother Nature's fury.

Through the driving rains, the stark gray skies, the fierce winds, and the perilous night our flag was still there. And so is the hope and pride of the American people.

Cindy Sheehan: Arrogant, Elitist Bitch

Cindy Sheehan is now claiming that ALL of the mothers who have lost their sons and daughters in the current war and DO NOT agree with her are BRAINWASHED !

"I have been silent on the Gold Star Moms who still support [President Bush] and his war by saying that they deserve the right to their opinions because they are in as much pain as I am. I would challenge them, though, at this point to start thinking for themselves."

"How can these moms who still support George Bush and his insane war in Iraq want more innocent blood shed just because their sons or daughters have been killed? I don't understand it," Sheehan stated. "I am starting to lose a little compassion for them. I know they have been as brainwashed as the rest of America, but they know the pain and heartache and they should not wish it on another. However, I still feel their pain so acutely and pray for these 'continue the murder and mayhem' moms to see the light."
Cindy's" Diary

What an arrogant, elitist bitch! At one time I felt some sympathy for Sheehan, but no longer. She is no better than that traitorous bitch, Jane Fonda. Sheehan calls the people who killed her son "freedom fighters" and all those who support and serve under President Bush "the real terrorists." That means her own dead son, Casey, was a terrorist.

'Everyone is crazy, except me' is what this fool is saying. That is the same thing that nearly every insane individual says, 'I'm not crazy, you are!' Sheehan has passed the tipping point into certifiabililty. She proclaims her son a terrorist, all the Gold Star Mothers brainwashed, and herself sane. Sheehan has lost it. If she has not lost it, then she is just a bitch.

It's Just Wrong

"God hates fags" "God hates you."

To private funerals they came carrying signs and chanting those words. The Westboro Baptist Church led by Reverend Fred Phelps came to protest. The families came to grieve, remember, pray, and bury two men killed in Iraq. Staff Sgt. Asbury Fred Hawn II, 35, of Smyrna and Spc. Gary Reese, Jr., 22, of Ashland City were killed in Iraq serving their country aiding the Iraqis gain the freedoms we so much take for granted.

God is punishing American soldiers. God is punishing America. God is punishing us because America harbors homosexuals. That was the message of Phelps and his congregation of mostly his children, grandchildren, and in-laws. The Westboro Baptist Church has no affiliation with any larger denomination; Phelps' church is strictly in-bred hillbillies.

At the Smyrna United Methodist Church, some ten Phelps people protested. Another group of 20 demonstrated in front of the Ashland City National Guard Armory. They have often disrupted the funerals of soldiers all across this country.

Amid cries of "get out of our town" and "get out of our country" Danny Cotton, 56, said, "If they were protesting the government, I might even join them...But for them to come during the worst time for this family - it's just wrong."

What the hell is wrong with Americans? I can understand this behavior when the country was young and raw, but shouldn't some kind of civilizing affect have taken place by now? Funerals are for grieving, not policy statements. Even state officials have barged into requiems slandering the fallen, berating the Washington administration, denigrating America from the very time of discovery. There is a time for everything the Bible says. Funerals are neither the time nor place for personal indulgences of personal policy disagreements and anti-social behavior. It's just wrong. It's just wrong.
