Gore Hired Spy Arrested

ABCNews, in an exclusive story that has been a secret only to ABCNews, announced that a Filipino spy hired by Al Gore in 1999 has been arrested on espionage charges. The MarineTimes reported September 15, 2005 that a "former Marine administrative chief and a former official with the Philippines National Police were arrested and charged with espionage Sept. 10, according to the office of the U.S. District Attorney in New Jersey. "

The Philipine press and bloggers have been reporting the story for a month. Both CNN and Fox have reported the story here in the US. Apparently, the exclusive part is the tie to the White House through the Vice President. Michelle Malkin thinks that possibly "[t]he safety of the president and the country was put at risk...". I think that is a stretch, but the situation should be investigated and rectfied, if possible.

Leandro Aragoncillo, 46, a retired U.S. Marine had been assigned to the Vice Presidential staff of Al Gore in 2000 and more recently Dick Cheney. Using Yahoo! and Hotmail accounts, Aragoncillo allegedly e-mailed over 100 documents (101 actually) to Michael Ray Aquino. Thirty-seven of the documents were stamped "SECRET", but all were classified. The documents were then passed to officials of the Philipine government (Senator Ping Lacson, et al) who are believed by many in the Philipines to have been plotting a coup d'etat of the government of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

"Aquino was a chief inspector of the defunct Presidential Anti-Crime Commission (PACC) headed by then Vice Pres. Joseph Estrada. When the PACC was disbanded to form the now also defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF), he was promoted as senior superintendent. During his stint as a PACC agent, Aquino was implicated in five bank robberies and the Kuratong Baleleng rubout case, along with his superior, erstwhile chief superintendent (now senator) Panfilo Lacson, and 32 other police officials. The case was dismissed by a Quezon City trial court judge in 2003." Posted by Alecks Pabico Sept 15, 2005.

The Gore hired spy stole secret US documents that were compiled by US spies concerning the activities of the President of The Philipines. During an interview on Philipine television while on an official visit by VP Gore, Aragoncillo was asked why Filipinos were employed by the White House and he replied, "I think what they like most is our integrity and loyalty."

Indigo,

Could it be that foreign born has anything to do with it. They come here and try to change things! Nothing new.

Fillipinos run the White House mess and prepare food for the President and the staff...

Kind of like food tasters, not inclined to be swayed by partisan politics and try to poison the Republicans.

I didn't know there were any in other spots but it wouldn't surprise me.
