Hero; Need Job

His long term goal is to be a New York City Police Detective. September 10, 2001, he was a security guard at the World Trade Towers. He lost his job the next day. He joined the Army Fourth Infantry Division and was sent to Iraq. He was assigned to Operation Red Dawn, December 13, 2003.

His company was ambushed in Iraq, September, 2003. Fifteen fellow troopers were killed. Many troops have been ambushed and killed in Iraq. He survived. So, why should I care?

His unit left Iraq April 14, 2004 and shortly thereafter this Puerto Rican kid from the Bronx lost his job again. There are alot of Puerto Rican kids in the Bronx. Many have lost their jobs, too. So, why should I care?

His name is Jeans Cruz. He has a wife, Karina, and a son Jeans too young to understand. Millions of men have wives and sons. So what! Why should I care?

He has computer skills, a GED, special training in spotting potential danger, weapons training, combat experience, leadership skills, team skills, an Army veteran -- "That was something I always wanted to do, and I accomplished something". Jeans Cruz is eminently employable and he can't find a job in the United States of America. Again, SO WHAT! Why should I care? What is so special about this man?

"He didn't say a damn thing. It was funny,"
Cruz said about the capture of Saddam Hussien. Jeans Cruz should know. He was there. Jeans Cruz is the one in the clean uniform holding the dirty, smelly bum.

Both men pictured should get what they deserve. One man will. Which one will it be? The heroic Puerto Rican kid from the Bronx who has done everything right and today can't catch a break, Jeans Cruz? Or, the arrogant, scum sucking, murdering, bastard Saddam Hussein? Which one, which one?

Believe me, I could tell you. However, this is still a free country, gentle reader, so I'll let you decide for yourself.

Hey, I thought that we were GAINING jobs in America? Where are those jobs? And why doesn't the government have job assistance for returning soldiers? That's just insane!
